How to Make Baklava recipe
Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 350oF
The very first thing you have to do is to turn on the oven to preheat at 350oF temperature.
Step 2 – Prepare the honey syrup
Add water and sugar to a saucepan and heat it with occasional stirring until the sugar dissolves. Now add orange extract, honey, and if want, the whole cloves and stir the mixture. Bring the mix to boil and then slow down the heat and let cook for 25 minutes. Then remove the honey syrup from the stove. Add lime juice, remove cloves, and leave the syrup to cool down entirely.
Step 3 – Prepare the nut mixture
Add all the nuts to the food processor with a blade and turn it on a couple of times to chop the nuts. When done, move the mixture to a large bowl and add cinnamon, ground cloves, and sugar, mix well. This makes the baklava recipe super delicious
Step 4 – Make the Phyllo Pastry
Unroll the defrosted phyllo pastry with great care and put them in between the kitchen towels. It will keep the phyllo from breaking.
Step 5 – Bring together some initial layers of Baklava
Prepare a baking pan by brushing its interior with melted butter. Take one phyllo sheet and put it in a baking pan and brush it with the melted butter. Keep on repeating the process until you have placed 1/3 of the sheets.
Step 6 – Add some nut mixture for Baklava recipe
Evenly spread half of the nut mixture over the uppermost layer of the phyllo. This is the essential part of Baklava recipe

Repeat the process as done in step 5 and add 1/3 phyllo pastry and then spread the remaining half of the nut mixture over the top layer.Now finish the leftover 1/3 of the pastry with the same process.
Step 8- Cut it into pieces
Now it’s time to cut the baklava. Use a sharp knife to cut the baklava into diamond-shaped pieces about half-inch deep.
Step 9 – Bake
Put the baking tray with baklava on the middle rack of the oven. Now bake it somewhere between 35-45 minutes or until the baklava turns golden brown, and the skewer comes out clean, that was inserted in its center.
Step 10 – Pour syrup, let cool before garnishing
Pour the honey syrup all over the baklava once you take it out from the oven and it is hot. Ensure the even distribution of syrup.
Now let it cool down completely and it is the best practice to leave it for a few hours or 1 hour at least so that flaky phyllo layers completely absorb the syrup. Cut it, sprinkle some pistachio and enjoy your mouth-watering Baklava recipe.
