Do you want some great tips while cooking rice? Rice is food that is very easy to cook but easy to mess up with. Rinse rice before cooking Rice
You should rinse rice before you cook it, as it will make rice less sticky and avoid forming clumps. It may not be very important for rice with long grains, but. Rinsing will remove the extra starch that sticks to the outer surface of the rice and makes it sticky and gluey and avoid the rice clumping together. You can wash rice either by placing it in a container of water and washing it with your hands or cleaning it in a strainer.
The common water to rice ratio is 2 parts water: 1 part rice
Even though this ratio is most commonly used but is not right for all rice varieties. For instance, white rice needs less water than brown varieties.
Don’t stir it when you cooking Rice
Do not stir the rice while they are cooking, unless you are making risotto. Stirring will cause gluey, dense, and starchy while cooking rice.
Use pot with heavy bottom while cooking on the stove
The drawback of not stirring the rice is that it can burn. To prevent the burning of rice, we require you to use a pot with a heavy bottom while cooking it. A pot with a thin bottom will get extremely hot from the lower side and burn it rather than conducting even heat all around.
Add a splash of oil to the Cooking Rice
It is a common problem while cooking rice that the individual grains stick together. To avoid this issue, add a pat of butter or splash of oil into the cooking liquid. When rice will cook, the oil or butter will avoid the rice grains sticking together and result in beautifully defined rice grains ideal for tossing in salads.
Place a kitchen towel under the lid in the last stages of cooking rice
Adding a kitchen towel under the lid during the last stages of cooking rice will absorb the condensation that can otherwise drip down back over it and make them mushy and soggy. During the last couple of minutes of cooking, simply place the kitchen towel under the cover and ensure that it doesn’t reach close to the flame.
When done cooking, let rest for 15 minutes then eat it
When you are done, you will want to eat it right away; but you need to wait for about 15 minutes if you can. You can let the rice sit for 15 minutes in the same position with a towel still placed under the lid and heat turned off. It will rearrange the moisture across the rice and make it even consistent.
